Sheriff, Todd Meadors

Pike County Prosecutor and the Commission to End Drug Abuse presents Pike Tip Hotline (877) 745-3847 or (877) PIKETIP

This hotline is for suspected alcohol and drug use and abuse, including the misuse of prescription medications.

This is an answering machine, Not a real person. If you have information that needs immediate attention, call the Pike County Sheriffs' Office at 354-6024 or 911.

The answering machine is checked daily for information

Speak slowly and clearly. You do not have to give your name, phone number, or address. There is no "caller ID" on this line. Unless you identify yourself, we will not know who you are.

Give us as much information as possible. The more detailed the information, the better we can understand and follow-up on your tip.

The information given will not result in any immediate arrests or visits by the police. Do not worry about getting your friends or neighbors "in trouble." You would not be reporting a tip if your friends or neighbors were not already "in trouble."

Legal Notes:

Can a search warrant be issued based on an anonymous tip?
No. Two sources of information are needed before action can be taken on any tip.

If you give a tip anonymously but are identified anyway, can you be called to testify? Under very rare circumstances.

Can you call in a tip on a family member (spouse/child/etc.)?
Yes, You are doing them a favor by getting them help.

What happens after I report drug activity in my neighborhood?
Your tip, along with other information, could lead the police toward stopping dangerous behavior.

When should I call the police instead of the PIKE TIP line?
If you need immediate help or if you believe a crime is in process, contact the police immediately.
